Remote conflicts with other devices, otherwise works great

This review is for the SGEYR 4K@60Hz 5x1 HDMI Switch HDMI Selector Switch 5 Port HDR IR Remote 4K HDMI Selector Box 5 in 1 Out Auto Switch HDMI Switcher 2.0 HDCP 2.2, Full HD/3D Compatible with //DVD///Projector productThe biggest negative that I have is that the remote for this device conflicts with other devices. It conflicts with remotes for my TOJOCK DVD player and for my TiVo DVRs. This makes it difficult to use the HDMI switch. Basically, using the remote for one of these devices will end up switching the input to another device. If you have one of these HDMI switches and are frustrated by the remote conflicts, see the end of my review for how I made it usable with my setup.A minor annoyance is that the LEDs on the device are extremely bright. The red one, in particular, is too bright to look at directly. I covered it with multiple layers of masking tape and it is still easily visible.Other than the above, the device works great. I have no issues with the video or audio on any devices. I'm using it with a 1080P TV. It switches inputs quickly. The device runs cool.If you are interested in how I got the HDMI switch to work with my devices, in particular a TiVo DVR, keep reading. My TV has multiple HDMI inputs, but not enough for all the devices I want to use with it. So, I was able to get around some of the issues by hooking the problematic inputs up directly to the TV. That way, when buttons on the remote would switch the input on the HDMI switch, it would not switch what was displayed on the TV. I have 2 TiVo DVRs. For these, the TiVo button on the remotes would switch inputs.Since I have two TiVo DVRs, I had to change the remote settings on them so that they wouldn't conflict with each other. On one of the TiVo remotes, the TiVo button would cycle through the inputs. I put this TIVo and the DVD player as direct inputs. On the other TiVo remote, the TiVo button would select a particular input. I hooked this TiVo up to that input. In this way, pressing the TiVo button does not switch the input away from the TiVo. In fact, it is quite convenient: I pick up the TiVo remote, hit the TiVo button and the switch automatically goes to the TiVo input. If you only have one TiVo, you probably can still change the remote settings to get it so that the TiVo button selects a particular HDMI switch input. Then hook your TiVo up to that input.
