I have a tradition of changing the top of the tree every Christmas season. This year I've decided to go the "high tech route" and look for one of the front runners who "puts on a show of their own". I found a Willcrew topper in this LED star. The topper is very beautiful. It's a bit cheaply made... flimsy plastic and doesn't hold together too well... but it'll be changed next year anyway. With the included remote control, this topper puts on a great show. You can change the colors... change the brightness... and change the mode to one of the really cool built-in programs. The lights in the star can disappear, jump, or move in all sorts of neat patterns. The star tree top is powered by 3 AA batteries. You can use rechargeable ones if you want, as the company also includes a USB charging cable. But I honestly don't see anyone bothering to remove the topper just to charge the batteries. You can also power it up with the included USB cable... it's quite long. On the other hand, I don't know anyone who has a USB port built into their tree. The food options are kind of pointless. But the big issue with this LED star tree top is the battery weight, both with and without batteries. It's too heavy for the star to sit properly on the tree. As you can see from the picture, it just falls off when you put it on. And I tried many ways to place the battery but to no avail. Oh well. I love the look and function of this LED star tree topper. But I can't use it...at least not at the top of my tree. This is very bad because I think it would look good.
