Review on Measure Your Tire Pressure With Precision: FOVAL'S Digital Tire Pressure Gauge For Cars At 150 PSI by Steven Guevara

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The Digi-Tire tire pressure gauge has a sturdy black plastic body with a matte finish

The Digi-Tire tire pressure gauge has a sturdy black plastic body with a matte finish, and appears to be well-made.A slide switch on the top (above where the digital display is located on the side) controls the two lights: sliding forward from the center-off position turns on the medium-brightness flashlight facing forward (it has a typical flashlight reflector enclosure surrounding its reasonably-bright LED); sliding the switch toward the back from its off position turns on the red LED on the bottom of the unit that can illuminate the tire valve stem when testing pressure (I presume it is red so it doesn't mess up your night vision when checking pressure in the dark). There is no legend labeling the light switch, but it's function is obvious. On the side is an LCD display that shows the pressure and the pressure units. The pressure-reading function is enabled by pressing the adjacent silver pushbutton labeled with the international power symbol. Momentarily pressing this switch turns on the LCD display, briefly turns on all the elements to verify it is working, and then displays 0 with the pressure unit that was set when it was last turned off; repeatedly pressing this switch cycles the display through the available units: PSI, BAR, KPA, and KG/CM. Also, the pressure value format is determined by the unit selection.A nice feature is that the car window breaker point is covered by a rubber-like safety cap, which stays attached to the unit when the point is exposed. One feature I would suggest for future models would be the addition of a beep or click sound to let the user know when a pressure reading is ready. When trying it out for the first time on my car tire, I thought it might be defective, because I couldn't feel or hear the release of air from the tire valve that I get with regular pressure gauges, and I kept pressing harder with no apparent effect. But when I checked the display, it indicated the expected pressure. Some tactile or audible feedback would be helpful.I would also like to correct the physical dimensions shown on the Best Buy product page. It shows the dimensions as 1.6 x 0.8 x 1.2 inches. Using my ruler I get 6.7 x 1.0 x 3.3 inches.I think the posted price i probably about right. It would be a great addition to anyone's auto emergency toolkit.

Pros

Cons
