Review on LUTER Stainless Steel Makerbot Extruder Cleaning Tool by Scott Tompkins

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Wrong Size, Poor Extrusion, Filament Sticking to Nozzle

Media could not be loaded. EDIT: See edit/comment below, I've also included a short video explaining what I was able to do with mine so I can get back to printing. --------------- The price was great but I think you get what you pay for. I tried 2 brand new nozzles from this set and both had issues with uneven extrusion and filament sticking to the nozzle frustrating my attempts at calibration. I have already calibrated my PID for the hot end and did a 5 x 5 bed alignment with a 0.10mm feeler gauge. I just tried putting one of the cleaning needles in the end and it doesn't fit, neither does my other needle from the old nozzles. I will send them back, completely unsatisfied. Maybe they're Revain's choice because they have a bunch in stock and need to be thrown away. EDIT: Attention buyers. Print the process using the needles provided. The hole drilled was originally 0.4mm in diameter, but a coating on the nozzles or something else made it smaller, resulting in higher extrusion resistance and nozzle sticking. After sanding them I had 4 to 6 pieces that were still resistant to the passage of the needle, but this first one I sanded works fine.

Pros
  • Precise Design - 0.4mm diameter extruder nozzles effectively prevent print head leakage and ensure smooth printing with a smooth and glossy finish. Reduce the drag of corners and avoid blocking the filament with a bevel.
Cons
  • Very Expensive
