THREE VERY IMPORTANT TIPS TO GET THE MOST OUT OF THIS MOP! Hello everyone. I've been using this mop every day for a few months now. And I want to share with everyone some tips on how to get the most out of this mop. I want someone to share these tips with me from the start. Tip 1 This is probably the most important tip of all. A microfiber mopping pad will not work when wet or completely dry. Works best when semi-moist. This applies to all microfiber cleaning tools, including mops or cloths. It took me a long time to learn this because I had no experience with microfiber cleaners until recently. It took me a long time to realize that I was using this amazing mop in the worst possible way. Here's what you shouldn't do with your mop: I soaked the mop head in water and then attached the mop head to the mop. when it's almost wet. I was wondering why it doesn't pick up dirt as advertised. It just moved dirt around. Then one day I realized what I had done wrong. From that day on I started spraying the floor with a spray bottle. (I don't like using the sprayer attached to the mop, it makes the mop too heavy). I would then attach a dry mop head to the mop, or sometimes spray the mop head a few times from a spray bottle filled with clean water, before actually mopping the floor. It's like magic. My mop started picking up dirt as advertised. I then changed the mop head every 2 minutes when it got too dirty to use. I would get a replacement clean dry mopping pad to continue mopping. I tossed all the dirty mop pads into a small bucket of water and brushed the dirt off of them when I finished mopping the floor. Yes, that's right, the dirt now sticks so well to the mop that I have to brush it off with a strong hand brush. Washing the floor in this way uses up a lot of washcloths. I had to use 9 mop heads every day to mop all 3 floors of my house because I had to change them so often. But it was worth it. I picked up 100x more dirt than before with a wet wipe. (By the way, I don't have OCD. But I'm severely allergic to a lot of things, including pollen, dog dander, and dust mites. It gets so bad that when I have an allergic reaction, I sneeze, and my sneezes get bloody! That's why I really work hard on keeping my house spotless every day!) Tip 2: I hang my mop heads on a stainless steel shower rod to air dry when I'm done cleaning. They would be in perfect semi-wet condition ready for use the next morning. I think putting them in the dryer is just a waste of electricity because I still have to spray water on them to get them wet again to mop them up the next day. so why dry completely in the dryer? Tip 3: I've found that many cleaners damage the Velcro on the back of the mop head, making it less secure to the mop. So I stopped using Clorox bleach and switched to Lysol all-purpose cleaner. I bought napkins in different colors. I use cleaners with red mop heads to clean the kitchen and bathroom. I only use plain water with a blue-green mop head to clean my living room and bedroom. I noticed a big difference in the ability of the mop head's velcro to attach to the mop. The red mop pads are already badly worn and hardly stick to the mop; but the blue and green mop pads still attach to the mop almost like new.
