Does a job well

I bought this unit many years ago and it still works. I've used it on several long-distance self-guided bike rides (where I carry all my stuff on the bike myself). This is a great cycling safety accessory to warn of tornadoes and other adverse weather conditions. Most recently, I brought him out of retirement for a special occasion. The battery contacts were intermittent until I wiped them with cotton swabs and alcohol, but they're fine now. This unit does not receive AM or FM broadcasts, only 7 NOAA weather channels, but it does its job well. Everything works as advertised, including the alarm feature that forces the receiver to wake up when an alarm is received. (I tested that today.) I don't have a way to test the sensitivity since the antenna is built in, but everything seems fine. This unit has been in use for many years and has never had any problems. It is a bit tricky to align the battery cover correctly when installing. Batteries last a long time in standby mode.
