Special Mission Rations

I have several grocery supplies (office, home, car, locker) and a few emergency bags as I'm not sure where I'll be if and when food hits the propeller. I've had to reorder this item multiple times to replenish my office supply while I keep snacking on the damn stuff. Bars. 2) The brick is heavier than one would expect as the moisture content is very low, which allows the food source to be densely packed in a small space. 3) Due to the low moisture content, you will need liquid to drink, although the bars themselves should NOT make you thirstier. 4) Once the packaging has been opened, the 5-year expiration date no longer applies. Individual bars are wrapped in wafer-thin cellophane wrap.5) 18 individual bars ONLY 3600 calories. The three-day calculation is based on 1200 calories per day (3 meals per day for 3 days, 2 bars per meal). 6) For those of you who rightly point out that 1200 calories per day is below the prescribed minimum . Bars are a Coast Guard approved emergency ration. They are SPECIFIC GOALS. IE: They were designed for a relatively low calorie intake while sitting in a lifeboat in an inactive state, waiting to be rescued. However, this fact does not detract from the wisdom of keeping a reserve for emergencies and/or food rations. .One complaint: as I mentioned, they use a thin cellophane wrapper for each bar (no doubt to further reduce the bulk of the packaging). If you get it wrong the board will fall apart. My technique is to slide the side of the pocket knife across the flat side of the bar (like you would sharpen a knife on a whetstone) until the edge of the pocket knife touches the edge of the wrapper, then gently peel the wrapper away. .Good Appetite'
