Review on Optimized Snagless Black Ethernet Cable by Cable Matters by Ted Slaughter

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy to insert, difficult to remove

The cable looks solid and provides efficient transmission. However, for family members from seventh grade to grandparents, it is almost impossible to remove the plug unaided. We've plugged the cable into a variety of ports including Smart TV, Xbox, Laptop and Switch, all with the same simple insertion problem but difficult removal problem. We used a Phillips screwdriver to squeeze the lever hard enough to loosen and remove the connector, but still encountered some difficulty. I have years of experience with ethernet cables and before that phone line cables with similar release levers and have had few problems with this type of removal. This is a disappointing feature of what otherwise seems like an excellent product.

Pros
  • High Performance Category 6 Internet Cable; The 24 AWG copper Ethernet cable provides versatile connectivity for LAN components such as PCs, computer servers, printers, routers, switches, network media players, NAS, VoIP phones, PoE devices, etc.
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
