Not sure why there are any negative reviews! I've been buying these since I first saw them featured on a local morning TV talk show when I lived in Dallas when I was 17 years old. I'm 32 now! Eventually, everything breaks, so I end up buying a new one every 2 years. I've tried other heated lash curlers over the years and this one is the best! It gets really hot and my lashes stay curled even after the mascara goes on. If you want to curl your lashes with this thing after putting your mascara on, you can, but mascara will get gunked up on the tiny heating coils and reduce the heat that gets through when you go to use it the next time. Therefore, I usually keep two of these on hand.one for curling clean lashes and one for curling after I've applied my mascara (for if I need super-dramatic, betty-boop, date-night makeup).I've attached a photo so you can see the difference in the curl on clean lashes. The lashes on the left have not been curled. The lashes on the right have been curled. I couldn't live without this thing and I hope they never stop making them!
