Review on ๐Ÿค  Tom Selleck in Quigley Down Under by Benjamin Glasper

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A very good story. Best in Genre for select categories

I've seen this film twice before, but at least ten years apart, most recently in December 2016. This isn't Shakespeare. That's not Dickens. That's not Hugo. But it is good. Four stars is a personal bias because while the acting isn't incredible, each does a far more than worthwhile job of bringing their characters to life. you hate the bad guy You fancy a good guy. You want the romance to happen. The good thing about this film is that they didn't go too far. No loud explosions and generally no "modern" catchphrases that aren't relevant. They do their best to stay on their period for as long as possible. There's some language, but it's not exaggerated or groundless, although one could argue that this could have been an area where they might have deviated a little from what someone would have actually said at the time it happened . But it's one small thing I'm willing to let go of. There is also nudity. However, given the nature of inclusion, it's not just because they can. Also on purpose. So don't worry if your kids see it too. Think of it as a kind of National Geographic presentation on nudity. If you don't say anything, your children may not "notice" anything unusual, because in the context of the film, they don't. If you have seen and enjoyed other Tom Selleck movies, you will love this one. Probably the most challenging role is that of Laura San Giacomo, and yet it's not quite as fleshed out as it could be. We only have a few hours with this group, so the story should progress. And so it is with Selleck's character; You see more lies beneath the surface with everyone, but there just isn't time. And the slow parts are not without reason and do not drag. If you pay attention, there are really no scenes in this film, no wasted time - a rarity these days. Just watch the movie and decide. I believe you will end up smiling if you agree this is worth seeing. And that's a compliment every film should aspire to.
