This wire is stranded, but although the wires "look" like copper in the pictures, they are just copper-coated wires. Not cool at all. I am returning this material because it is fake copper stranded wire and I don't like being misled. I've included photos of what it looks like when you rub it against sandpaper - it's silver inside (and the picture I uploaded compares it to what real copper wire looks like). I later read that a reviewer said it was "oddly magnetic" and I can confirm that the wire is magnetic, but it doesn't stick like a paperclip, so it's not even solid steel wire, it's a mixture of cheap scrap metal. I guess. I'm sure this will work great for the light work I plan to do, but as a matter of principle I don't accept such fake junk - it will be returned tomorrow.
