Works perfectly! about dehumidifier

first let me point out some errors in other reviews. The damage to the heatsink/capacitor fins seen in one of my photos is perfectly normal during assembly. If it bothers you, or is bad enough to affect the car, or if you accidentally do it yourself, there's an easy fix. Take a condenser comb. I know they're available at Lowe's and Autozone, but chances are they're also available at Revain and a few other stores in your area. Look for it at hardware stores or auto parts stores. The combs are easy to use and understand how to use them. I would also like to point out that a run capacitor is not silent. On any device. If you operate this unit (unless it is defective) near a refrigerator, the refrigerator condenser will become louder. My mini fridge has about the same capacity with the condenser running. If you can hear it from multiple rooms, you may have a faulty unit and need a replacement. h0meLabs has excellent customer service. I left it unpackaged, upright and unplugged for 24 hours as per the packaging (the oils in the condenser may have shifted during shipping or even been placed on its side requiring it to be upright for that long). I installed a drain hose (Lowe's sells 6 foot female and female hose for $8). If you're using continuous mode and don't want to be constantly dragging the bucket into the tub or outside or whatever, it gets heavy when it's full, hence the drain hose. I cut the 6 foot tubing to about 1 foot plus or minus an inch. The hose goes to the Little Giant 554425 VCMA-20ULS 1/30 HP condensate pump. with a safety switch connected to a vinyl pipe that leads to my bathroom. The pump costs $50 and is a smart investment. It's optional, but you can wire a secondary safety switch to the water alarm (I've seen it in the sink/shower aisle at Walmart) that will sound when the pump's safety feature trips, warning you to remove the hose to clear it to get in. in water. bucket, otherwise you will have a wet floor. I also got it more than 8 inches off the wall on all sides, although it only lasts 8. I suspect the moisture meter can be turned off if it's in a corner. A lot of people say the house is weak, but it really isn't unless you're being rude. Other people say he doesn't empty the hose and keep filling the bucket. Well I used a level to make sure my floor was level. If you have it on your carpet then on a piece of plywood or something flat and strong (not cardboard) and make sure it is as level as possible. If it's not level, the float that gets it down the hose isn't working properly and you'll end up with a full bucket. Below is my actual rating based on usage. I'll update it at certain stages to report if it's pretty much ready to go right now. First hour: For the first hour I kept checking the bucket (turned it off first) to see if it was definitely getting into the hose and I took the hose off to see if it was (was) wet so it was definitely absorbing moisture. In just the first hour it took my house down from 86 to about 45-50. Day one: I already know it's better than my old DH (Hisense brand) because the old one was on display. I was about to unplug the old one to plug in the new one and the humidity said it was 32. When I plugged in the new one it went from 50 to almost 90 pretty darn fast. Then it slowly dropped to 33 which took about 3 hours. Week 1: I've definitely noticed a difference between my two dehumidifiers and this one is definitely better than my old one. With the stay on function and a drain hose to the condensate pump, this machine has been running non stop since I first plugged it in and the bucket is as dry as when the box was first opened. To anyone who says this feature doesn't work and doesn't fall down the hose, double check that the dehumidifier is as straight as possible and the drain hose is level and sloping down. If the hose is at an upward angle, the water cannot drain properly. It uses gravity, so it can only move down or horizontally.

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons
  • not as thick as other options
