Review on πŸ”Š Pyle PFA300: Powerful 90 Watt HiFi Stereo Amplifier for Home, Car, and Boat Audio Systems by Nailah Polanco

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Fantastic mini box for maximum sound

My house has built in speakers in most rooms but annoyingly with separate speaker jacks in different closets. Therefore, connection to a center receiver/amplifier is not possible without extensive cabling changes. I've looked at other home audio systems (like Sonos) but they clearly aren't designed to integrate with existing speakers and get pretty expensive once you start buying multiple units. My solution was to use mini amps to connect to the Google Chromecast. Audio devices in specific rooms to create both individual and composite sound in my home as needed. For under $30 I didn't know what to expect from the Pyle PFA300 but I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. Unlike other mini amps, this one seems designed for both home and car use (which is where most of them are likely to be used). Setup is very easy and I like the bass and treble adjustments that can be applied to a signal that is inherently very clean and can get really loud when needed. However, the device runs quite cool, which is an advantage in tight spaces. The only two minor flaws that keep me from giving it 5 stars are: 1) The blue light around the volume bezel is too bright. This can help when used in darker areas but borders on irritation otherwise. 2) The 3.5mm jack (mp3) is on the front of the unit, not the back. This doesn't make the cables as clean unless you want to use the RCA connectors on the back of the unit. I'm sure audiophiles can scoff at the power (rated at 90W) and clarity of the sound. But with my need for decent sound from an inexpensive, compact device, this fits the bill perfectly.
