I bought this cage as a third cage for my Syrian Longhair. This is very cute, but my hamster has a big bug. The tube leading up is such a small curve that it is physically impossible for him to get there. This renders the entire top section unusable on its own. I also have a two tier cage and this cage also has a top shelf. When it gets dirty in the top compartment, I swap it out with the pink one from that cage to clean the other one. That's the only thing that makes it useful for me. Don't take this cage if you have/want a Syrian! The tubes are too small and the wheel is too small for one. This may be suitable for a dwarf hamster or mouse. But please read below! Pros: - 1/4" secure and escape-proof spacing between bars - Connects to other cages - Easy to assemble - Has a top compartment that fits a mouse or dwarf hamster - Comes with a water bottle and the bowl door is easy to open and closes and it is very secure - cute color Cons - too small on its own This is the main cons - not intended for Syrians at all! long otherwise requires frequent cleaning - Can very easily become overcrowded with toys and stashes especially bad as hamsters need a lot of space and toys - The included running wheel is noisy and too small VERY IMPORTANT! I can only recommend this cage as a SECOND or THIRD CAGE. Don't buy it and don't think it will fit. Don't do it! Hamsters need more space and you will It is easier to provide them with what they need if you have a large cage or more Cells Also for small animals w ie mice or midgets! This cage can also make a great transport cage if that's all you need it for, but otherwise don't use it alone. Be smart if you want to buy this cage.
