Review on πŸ–ΌοΈ Hommie 50pcs Assorted One Step Hangers: Effortless Iron Alloy Nail Hooks for Easy Photo Picture Frame Hanging up to 20lbs by Gene Taylor

The sharp edge of the washer can damage the paintwork

I bought these hangers as a cheaper alternative to similar OOK hangers. Unfortunately the round disc that is welded to each nail has a design/manufacturing issue as the disc is slightly concave (not flat) and the round edge of the disc that touches the wall when installed is quite sharp. This may result in a 1/2 inch round ring of paint under the hanger that will be visible when the hanger is removed. OOK temples like this one have a very flat washer and the rounded edge isn't as sharp so they work better for my purposes. A sharp edge probably isn't an issue if you plan on leaving the hangers permanently in the wall, but if you're minimizing damage to the wall and planning to eventually remove the hangers, be aware of this. As other reviews have noted, hangars can be a bit fiddly to install as they need to be retracted/stowed at the correct angle. Note, however, that you can usually rotate the hanger slightly after installation so the drive is flush with the wall. Just don't turn so far that the hanging object could fall off the hook.
