Review on Enhanced Security for MacBook Pro with Touch Bar: Maclocks MBPRLDGTB01 Laptop Ledge Lock Adapter by Jose Guevara

Good solution for missing slots

This is a great product. This is because most Mac laptops don't have a slot for a Kensington lock. It gives you that slot when you need it without the use of glue, damage to your device, or complicated and time-consuming setup. When I looked at the description, I couldn't exactly understand how it worked because there were no pictures of the built-in device from below. I have provided some. The device consists of 2 parts, which are folded using the ventilation opening to hang the device. 2 screws hold the parts together. This is a fairly simple and very elegant solution. It blocks 2 cm (3/4 inch) of your ventilation, but that should be negligible for almost everyone. I installed it in less than a minute. The screws are slightly larger than eyeglass frame screws, so do this in good light and somewhere where you can find the screw if you drop it (avoid carpet). The kit included an extra screw and a small Torx screwdriver which was a very handy addition. I can see how easy it would be to remove the tiny screws, so I recommend being careful not to over-tighten them. At first glance it seemed expensive to me. When I have it, I see that it requires very precise processing to work. Fit and finish are perfect. Holds firmly and will not scratch or scratch other surfaces. It's silver, so it doesn't quite match the Space Gray color, but that's a bit of a problem. On closer inspection, the price seems reasonable. Some have mentioned that it ruins the sleek look of their Macs. It does. But if you decide you need to lock your device, then the boat has sailed away. The protrusion of this device is nothing compared to the cable lock that sticks out. That's the price of security. Other options are adhesives, which definitely won't leave the finish intact when you remove them, or deadbolt locks, which I think look a lot worse. Regarding the security aspect, some have noted that this will not stop all thieves. This applies to almost all Kensington slot systems and cable locks. They are needed so that the thief does not put your device under your arm and does not go unnoticed. You won't be able to defeat the thief with time and tools, but this solution is a great compromise.
