Review on 🍹 Black Amazon Basics Wide-Mouth 2-Speed Centrifugal Juicer with Juice Jug and Pulp Container by Mike Bonilla

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Robust 400W centrifugal juicer with a nice, compact design

I'm surprised at how much I like this little juicer. The box felt too light and I was disappointed to see that it was only 400 watts. Powerful juicers are twice as powerful or more, so I wasn't expecting this to work very well. The first thing I liked was that it came assembled, only a cup for juice stood separately. The juice cup only holds 2 cups, but that's the perfect size for such a small juicer. I love that it fits on the countertop of my small apartment. It doesn't take up much space at all, fits under closets, leaves room and is light enough that I can put it away and take it out when I need to free up space. A quick read, the most important things are as follows: - Thick foods such as mango, banana, avocado, etc. cannot be juiced. They must be crushed in a blender - Foods with thick and hard skins, such as melons, oranges and pineapples, must be peeled first - Remove hard stones from foods with stones (cherries, peaches, plums). .- Speed Dial: Use #1 for soft fruits and vegetables and #2 for firmer ones. You will feel it after preparing several servings of different types of juice. If you squeeze soft fruits and vegetables too quickly, you won't get as much juice out as you could and you'll leave a bunch of wet pulp that you need to get rid of. The first thing I did was some apple juice and I found that even small apples had to be cut into quarters to fit the loading tube. Four apples, cut into quarters, yielded two cups of juice very quickly, and the flesh was quite dry. I definitely had to press on the apples to get them through. Gentle pressure did nothing. The apple juice was quite frothy and the foam came off immediately. Before drinking, I simply poured the juice back and forth between the cup and drinking glass to mix it back in. Pretty tasty. The motor makes so much noise that you don't want to use it late at night or early. in the morning when there is someone around who can sleep or rest. Also, the manual says you shouldn't use it continuously for more than five minutes, and then unplug it and leave it for ten minutes. This is probably not the juicer you should buy if you're serious about juicing a few liters of juice a day, although the worst that can happen is that the life of the motor is shorter than it would otherwise be with the bowl, as I wanted that the shell adds flavor to the cake. This required a lot less pressure than moving an apple. Unfortunately I forgot to peel it and the result was a thick, bitter juice. I forgot how bitter the white core is. The skin itself caused no problems. The juicer went straight through. It was too bitter to drink, although I wouldn't make that mistake twice. Clean up after both juicing sessions was an easy task. Before I drank the juice, I scooped the pulp from all the pieces with my hands and quickly washed them under running water. Everything was immediately cleaned except for the metal filter. I had to wash it under running water with a stiff bristled brush to get rid of the small bits of pulp. This is a testament to how finely he actually filters everything. There are no recipes in the instructions. The Champion website has a number of YouTube enthusiasts that you can follow as well. I just wouldn't make peanut butter or anything like that in this juicer since it's a basic model. For what it is, however, it's surprisingly high quality. Everything but the cutter/strainer is plastic, so if that bothers you, buy something else.
