I love the storage box

Fimo is a lot of fun. I like the storage box because it's a great way to store any inclusions between uses. I also really like the shape it comes with. I've found that if I put the clay I poured into the mold in the fridge before removing the pieces, they come out very clean. I also bake clay pieces in a small aluminum foil tent in my oven and use a thermometer inside the oven to monitor the temperature. Clay is slightly sticky as it is so soft that it contains slightly more plasticizer compared to branded clay. When it's a bit too "oily," I crush a piece of it into the printable paper and it's a great, easy fix. The main disadvantage of the set is that there is very little of a specific color. So if I really like several colors, I can't just order that color. Marked as conforming to ASTM D-4236 regardless of what is printed on the brochure and packaging. It is an uncured plastic until oven-cured and contact with eyes and food preparation surfaces should be avoided. There are no safety instructions in the accompanying brochure. This is the only reason I can't give it 5 stars in good conscience. As a consumer advocate, I take safety seriously and hope the company will correct this oversight soon and make the safety data sheet available. Otherwise, it's a good alternative to branded clay, offers a wide range of colors, and is soft and pliable enough for young enthusiasts to use with minimal difficulty.
