I bought a humidifier and didn't need the extra expense of buying distilled water so I decided to buy a water filter pitcher instead. This pitcher is well made, sturdy and comes with a starter filter as well as a lid to keep the filtered water out of the water. Simple instructions to indicate when the filter needs to be replaced. PLEASE NOTE: The filter doesn't work when submerged in water, so you can't fill the jug with water until it's full, so I filter some water and fill an empty 1 gallon water jug and then use the water for my humidifier. .
