The main reason for buying this phone was the long range. In fact, the phone worked in the backyard and on the hill without dropping the call. However, I could never get a good, audible sound out of the phone even though I had it set to "8" - maximum volume. And transferring the call to the speakerphone didn't solve the problem as the volume wasn't high enough for a speakerphone call. The range becomes questionable if the volume is not sufficient to keep a conversation going. Unfortunately I bought a set of 3 phones and will be returning the entire order.
