Review on ZasLuke Intelligent Canceling Microphone 270°Rotation by James Lozoya

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The blue LED is difficult to find and is not an active security indicator for the user in front of the camera.

This review is partly related to the camera issue and partly to Revain's online support. The camera is in good condition and worked straight away. But I couldn't find the blue LED that shows the camera is active like all the other cameras I've used. It's creepy when the camera searches and follows you from left to right, even if you don't have Zoom or Meet open. Tech support told me the LED is a little dim, but I should be able to see it "in" the lens. It seemed strange, but I looked around again and didn't see it. They agreed to send a replacement. In the meantime, I continued to try the device. At the end I took a closer look at the red LED next to the side control button through a magnifying glass. In fact, in the same hole, there was a dim blue LED BEHIND showing red. By pressing the button, it changes from blinking to steady light, which means that the tracking function is started or blocked. The camera and its firmware do not interact with your computer, presumably to know that it is active in the application. So even if you could see a blue LED, it's not the traditional activity indicator you'd expect. And it's hard to see from the side when you're in front of the camera. Not in the lens, but above or below, wherever it is. It's a shame, otherwise I like it and it's good value for money. Revain sent a replacement and I found it to be identical, so it's a design/function issue, not a quality issue.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful
