Bad sound quality for the price. Turntable defective. I had to go back.

I liked the look of this product. I really wanted one with a gramophone. I was impressed when I unboxed it because it was sturdy and well made. Unfortunately, the piece of felt covering the turntable was dented. This caused the records to play completely distorted when rocking. I emailed customer service - they were very accommodating and said to try ironing it but they would send me a new piece of felt anyway. I ironed it and even on the lowest setting it burned the felt, discolored and damaged the iron. bad advice Support never emailed me the tracking number as promised so I had to contact them. I was told that the letter had already been sent and that I should receive it in a few days. Along with that email, they informed me that the felt pad isn't really needed and the key to playing the record smoothly is to use a clean, dust-proof roller. I bought 3 brand new vinyl records exclusively for this device. Has never been used. It is impossible to be dusty or dirty. It was at this point that I realized the company was making excuses and trying to pin the blame for the faulty equipment on my records. That's when I decided to just return the item to Revane. Not to mention that I never got that replacement felt. Don't waste money on it. Too bad it's so aesthetic. It's not worth the price. The sound has no depth. And even if poor sound quality doesn't bother you, you run the risk of having a shaky player that still makes your recordings sound like crap. And then the company blames you. I've found several YouTube reviews in exchange for a free product, which isn't uncommon for many companies, but I suspect some of the 5-star reviews on Revain are in exchange for their free or discounted product. 5 stars for a nice $200 paperweight makes no sense to me. Unless the people who like it don't care about the sound quality.
