Works great except for the test button

We used and tested this in a camper van. The test alarm didn't work, so we weren't sure if the unit was defective. However, we did a carbon monoxide experiment with the fire department and the alarm quickly went off as carbon monoxide began to fill the apartment building. There was nobody inside, but we installed two carbon monoxide detectors and several cameras. Designed for low CO levels, this device quickly alerted us and we were impressed. The other standard smoke/carbon monoxide unit did not work until the carbon monoxide levels got MUCH higher. Even long-term exposure to low levels of CO can be very harmful, which is why we got this low-level detector on the recommendation of a fire chief who takes it everywhere he travels. We would have kept it if the test alarm hadn't turned out to be defective, but it could just have been our device. Carbon monoxide is a silent killer so you can't be too careful, especially in a small space like an RV: I would recommend this unit - just make sure the test alarm works! I returned it and got a handheld Ravel car CO alarm instead, but am considering buying another one just like this. It worked very well at low CO levels, warning you to quickly exit or handle the situation before it became deadly. Warning: Do not attempt to do a carbon monoxide test yourself at home. Everything ran safely and under the professional control of the fire brigade.
