Maytag Maxima dryer started squeaking and actually jammed. Fixed reel swap. The old roll circumference has worn away, causing metal-to-metal friction. Cleaning the axles and replacing the fixed problem. Louder than new, but it could be a new pulley (with an old belt) that I really don't even need, or old drum wear. The repair is not difficult (no special tools required), but basically you have to disassemble the entire dryer. It was an expensive purchase. Saved the need for a new dryer for a few hours repair. There is a tube for the dryer pulley that helped a lot.
