I've been using a battery powered smoke gun for a while now and it's great, but I realized I needed a better way to inject smoke into mine culinary creations. I used a ziplock bag for a while and while it worked, sometimes if I wasn't careful I got a bitterness from the smoke that I didn't really like and the bag itself became sticky from the smoke. and it was almost impossible to reuse them. Enter the dome. It had the perfect port, good rubber padding around the edges, and was strong enough not to fall on my utensils. I've attached some pictures of a recent steak where I wanted to add a touch of mesquite to the meat. The dome worked great even without the little plastic fitting I lost from the smoke gun. As you can see the acrylic is crystal clear and I suspect some reviews forgot to remove the thin plastic that protected the dome during shipping because without this film it actually looks dirty or possibly used. Overall I'm very happy with the dome and it's really easy to rinse it out after smoking something like cheese.
