First of all. Make sure you understand that this pet door is designed to be installed in a screen door with a protective screen underneath. He doesn't go with this guard. We chose this design because it greatly improves installation than simply installing through a light mosquito net. Okay, here are a few things to consider. Size: We have two dogs. The larger one is the Schnudel (a mix of Schnauzer and Poodle). He is about the size of a standard schnauzer and weighs around 25 pounds. He is about 16 inches tall from floor to shoulder and his chest is about 7.5 inches wide. This door is big for him. I'm not sure he wants to go through much less. Our other bitch (bitch) is a bit smaller so she has plenty of space. Design: It seems we made this door. The materials are of good quality and the installation was very easy thanks to the instructions provided. FYI, I used a Dremmel tool with a cutting wheel to cut through the shield. This made it easier. The door has a flexible, clear plastic dog-friendly flap and a sturdy panel that slides in to "latch". Training Tips: Our two dogs are very different. We would "help" her by opening the choke a little and letting her push it all the way in. Now it will pass by itself (with the magnet glued on). We just had to be patient and go step by step.
