My eight year old is not thin and not very fat, I took the size she usually wears in a suit and in the end I had to have this one Completely redo the suit. I had to trim A LOT of excess material from the back and sew it to fit, reattach the velcro because it was huge, cut and sew the shoe covers because they fell off, and trim and trim the headband because it was just big enough. to equip a grown man with a bowler hat. I didn't have time to go back so I'm stuck here. I understand it's a suit and will fit everyone differently, but damn it's a bathing suit. How hard does it have to be? If they used a thicker stretch material like a basic swimsuit should, it would solve a lot of problems. And they should measure the kid's real head to get the right head band size, and put a better elastic band on the top of the boots. I didn't want to do any of this and nobody should do it. It's a cute costume and she looked exactly how she wanted and was happy, but I had to customize pretty much everything to make it happen. I don't think I would recommend this unless you can get it very cheap because you will likely be customizing it as well
