I bought previous versions of Minix USB-C hubs and they are quality devices. This new version keeps the high quality but adds a super fast SSD (I have the 256GB SSD version which I recommend you). A built-in SSD makes this device much more valuable, especially for travelers. I use it with a 2018 MacBook Pro and have used it not only for offline files but also as my Time Machine backup drive and haven't had any issues. I'm very happy with this hub but be warned that the USB SSD mounts automatically when the hub is plugged in and it's easy to forget when you unplug the hub. I haven't had any problems, but it's obviously best to remove a USB stick before unplugging it. This applies in particular if backups or file accesses took place when the drive was disconnected. One thing to consider when purchasing this hub is that it lacks some of the ports that are included in the other model I'm using, namely SD card slots. and RJ-45 network ports. If any of these are important to you (and the newer MacBooks don't have those ports), you might want to consider one of their other hubs. Overall this is a great product, highly recommend!
