There are some reviews here as to whether this is true or not and I have concluded that most of the items sold are fake. . It's really impressive how well they've hidden this as they look authentic from the logo to the overall quality of the controller. The only thing that stood out was that they used the Japanese packaging when they first released the Dualshock 3 instead of the newer packaging from 2013+ which is very similar to the packaging of the Dualshock 4. That and the label on the back it is not the right material for stickers that use the original controllers, they also contain other information. Otherwise, it looks almost identical (with a few minor differences). The controller does not charge even after several hours of connection to the PS3. money, don't buy. The final verdict is that if you're looking for the Dualshock 3 you're probably best off going to the actual store, as everyone on Amazon seems to be either third-party controllers or more of a Chinese rip-off, which I find really weird, weird that the PS3 still alive and well. Sure, these controllers should work, but if you're already paying $45-60 for one, buy the real one instead.
