Review on Tosnail X14 Stretched Canvas Panels by Amanda Castillo

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not archival quality. Suitable for children's crafts.

I'm an art student and I brought these to use as gifts for this holiday. Designation. Unfortunately, the cotton used is very light and has only a very thin layer of plaster that has not even been polished. I bought with the expectation of the same quality as other canvases in the same size and price range, which usually includes at least 3 coats of plaster. Too thin or no plaster will result in the base canvas rotting after the paints are applied so these are definitely not archival quality but if you want to do a mixed media piece that includes cross stitch this might work. Work. If you buy them for a kids craft they won't last forever but they will help with any activity you plan to do. I have attached photos of the canvases I received. I just want to show how thin it is and how it works. I bought two packs at once so it wasn't a one time thing. TLDR: Super thin canvases that require more plaster. Do not use with oil paints as supplied. Suitable for pintrest temporary souvenirs and projects.

Pros
  • Suitable for all acrylic, oil and other painting materials.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
