My 4.5 year old is in the phase of not wanting to wear anything that feels even remotely "tight" or fitted; prefer to do without underwear, socks or shoes. It's disappointing that most women's clothing and shoes have a "slim" design. I prefer a more minimalist shoe for a growing child to accommodate natural growth in foot length and width; Although these shoes are considered "water boots" they look like shoes that can be worn every day and still have enough room in the toe box not to interfere with bone development. The toe closure design allows my little girl to put these shoes on and off on her own encouraging her growing independence. The orange pair is a lovely light color that admittedly does get a bit dirty but as they are water boots they could easily be washed. We loved this pair so much we got a black and pink heart pair too!
