Once we figure out how it works on the Nikon D3400 it's GREAT. Just go to the timer menu, it's the little button under the joystick, select the little remote icon and that's it. You can also select a 2 second delay using the remote control. You really need to use it from the front of the camera or from the right side (rear) and place the remote far enough forward to "talk" to the infrared sensor located in the top third of the grip. I never knew how my hands were shaking until I started learning more about photography and bought this camera. This remote has and will make my photos so much better! Love it.
