Achieved very good (but not totally grit free) results on oak kitchen cabinets

(Note: 1st photo without Aquacoat, 2nd photo with it.) Have used it on my oak cabinets and am overall very happy. For the top doors I applied 2 coats with a plastic trowel, then 1 coat of primer and 2 coats of Benjamin Moore Advance paint. As for the base cabinets, I burned out and applied just one coat but applied it a little more liberally, rubbing it in with the cloth and then wiping off the excess with a sweeping motion of the cloth. There is no significant difference in the bottom line between top and bottom. Both pairs of doors have some leftover grain when viewed from certain angles in bright light, but they all look much better than the test doors I made without the Aquacoat. My goal wasn't necessarily to eliminate graininess, but to reduce pitting and dark spots caused by color penetrating unfilled pores. I feel like I've achieved it and I'm glad I made it with Aquacoat. I think an extra layer of Aquacoat and/or an extra layer of paint would have given a very smooth finish, but I'm happy with the balance of effort and result. I have not used Aquacoat on the back of my doors and you can see the difference in the attached photos. (Sorry for the weird angles, but I wanted to capture the grain as best as possible.) The first photo is without Aquacoat; second photo with
