Review on De'Longhi EC9355M La Specialista Prestigio: ☕ The Ultimate Espresso Machine for True Coffee Connoisseurs by Matt Tito

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good results but less manual control than most espresso machines

Control over critical variables; such as grinding degree, extraction time and temperature. The most popular high-end home espresso machine was the Breville Barista Express. But this machine has a high learning curve. Just learning how to select the right grind size from the many options available, or constantly pressing ground coffee to just the right amount of pressure, takes a lot of practice (and waste of coffee). Not to mention learning how to properly use a milk-based beverage steamer. You can spend around 4x a Breville to buy a super machine that makes really good espresso, like the various Jura models. Or you could spend a little more money than a Breville and buy a coffee maker like this new De'Longhi La Specialista Prestigio espresso maker, which automates some hard-to-learn steps while still allowing you more control over the process than a coffee maker would. superautomatic would. This De'Longhi only offers 6 grind size options, but with the built-in sensor grind technology, you don't have to be as precise with your mesh size selection as you would with a less advanced machine. But perhaps the most useful feature of this machine is the intelligent compaction feature, which ensures you're applying the right amount of pressure to compact the soil, so you don't have to worry. Whether you're a beginner or an expert at making your own espresso, you'll get more and more consistent results with this machine. The steam wand is an improvement over previous De'Longhi models, but it takes a while to get the hang of it to make really good lattes and cappuccinos. However, after a little practice, it didn't take me long to get much better results than any other espresso machine I've used. Overall, this is a very good machine and probably the best home espresso machine under $1,000 you will find.

Pros
  • Semi-automatic espresso machines
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
