I updated from Fenix 3 and love these clock really. The design is beautiful. The clock function is excellent. Both the size and facial detail enhancement over 3 are worth the upgrade price. My only 3 gripes are battery life, lack of wireless charging, and quick release straps. Battery Life I frantically read every data sheet and post and could see what I was doing wrong. But, sorry, I don't notice any functional improvement in battery life over my Fenix 3. And by functionality I mean that in everyday use my Fenix 3 would go down to 96% every morning and I would charge it during my morning routine. This is after using the GPS for an evening hike each night. And now with my Fenix 6 Pro Solar, guess what, it's at 96 or 97% every morning and takes the same amount of time to charge. And yes, I had to disable many features to get to this point. I suppose given the dramatic increase in screen resolution, GPS syncing and a few other features, it's clear my functional battery usage will be the same. However, I hoped for the best. wireless charger Why can't it have that? Aftermarket charging stations and the included cable are clunky and don't connect well. This is an unnecessary hassle in my world of wireless charging. Quick Release Straps I feel like I'm in the minority in this category (as evidenced by the fact that I couldn't find many other people who share my issue), but I hate quick release strap attachments. At least 3 times a week I hang my watch on my belt, on my desk or on my desk and it slips out of my hand and falls to the floor. Most of the time, I can find watch band parts quickly, which saves me the time it takes me to clamp that tiny spring-loaded axle into even tinier holes. Yes, I tried different posts and different groups. It still breaks and falls to the ground. Should I be more careful and less accident prone? Possibly, but being in my 50s and then 60 and then 70 I'm not sure I'll magically improve in this area. But have I had this problem with my Fenix 3 before? no no Close your ears Garmin, but eventually I'll poke a few holes in the lugs and revert to the more secure Fenix 3-screw design. All in all, this is a very small thing for most people, so I HIGHLY recommend it. Watch.
