Piece of junk suitable for kitchen utensils and gadgets

I have an old Progressive apple peeler and after many great years of service the peeler blade broke and I couldn't find it anywhere so I decided to buy a new one. Since my holy grey-haired mother produces about 50 liters of applesauce a year, I thought I'd buy her some too. The new ones arrived just 3 days after I ordered them and I was really excited until I started using them. Apple, Peeler, Core, Slicer are great devices but this company decided to cut costs by making a cheaper and lousy product. Initially, with my mom's help, after a few apples the handle would fall off and keep falling off no matter how tight I screwed it back. and I kept pushing it back into the little hole. The "mouth" that determines the size of apple I can use is 3/4 inch smaller than my old one which makes life difficult. Finally, the coring blade is about half the thickness of my old one and has no support in the design. It started to bend after half an hour and probably won't last this season because it's so thin. When I first started using mine, it had some of the same problems: the handle fell out, the plastic sleeve slipped out (mine falls apart, and if it's not there my unit won't work) The worm gear lever is another weak iron part , which bends and has a much worse design than the old one. In short I would say do not buy this product. It's a shitty waste of money. I would suggest trying a different brand but they all look like they are made by the same company, the only difference is the color and how it attaches to the counter. Very sad.

Pros
  • Corer and corer
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
