Review on Silence barking woes with First Alert Bark Genie Handheld Bark Control Device by Kimberly Bryant

Works best for our collared dogs

While it is true that this device does not work for ALL dogs, it works well for our two dogs as well as a few neighborhood dogs. A very large neighbor's dog seems to care less about her. But to be honest for the money it's worth a try. We love it. We use it to stop incessant barking, barking at inappropriate times (e.g. when the newspaper is brought early in the morning) and when walking when the barking gets out of control. It costs money. We have several of these and we keep the device nearby on several floors of our home. It fits easily in my pocket when I go and I can even use it without anyone noticing by putting my hand in my pocket and just pressing a button. Presto! The barking stops (at least with our dogs!). When our dogs see us reaching for it, they stop immediately, which is exactly the reaction I really want. We find this device and our harmless jet water bottle to be the best exercise equipment yet found. I don't think the dog recognizes this as a breed, it just depends on the dog. We have a large and a medium sized dog and both respond very well. It will definitely catch their attention.
