I really don’t understand all of the positive reviews for this blanket. I assumed that perhaps the $40.99 was because of the ugly yellowish/egg shell color but this really is just the quality of a $40 weighted blanket and I regret spending even that because if I knew what this was like I’d have just sucked it up and spent double that on a better one.Material: it’s fine. Soft enough, feels durable enough. I highly suggest investing in a duvet cover for it because it’s like any other cotton blanket and holds dog hair/lint but you cannot put this thing in a washerSize: as others noted, the size is way off. I bought the 20lb one which according to the measurements is supposed to be the size of a queen. It is not. It’s a little bigger than a twin but not as long. So if you’re tall it will absolutely not be long enough for you.Weight distribution: this is what my real issue is with the blanket. This ‘weighted’ blanket is just a normal comforter but instead of filling in between the sewn sections throughout its sand. Lose sand dumped into these 8x8 octagons sewn through the length of the blanket. This results in little balls of heavy sand rather than a nice, evenly distributed weight like a true weighted blanket should be.Due to the poor weight system the uneven texture and weight makes this pretty annoying/frustrating to put on. Now I am very sensitive to having even weight distribution- like having a throw blanket unevenly place over a blanket I’m under on the bed will rattle me so those who aren’t sensitive like this probably won’t be as bothered. My husband has never used a weighted blanket before and could sleep in pretty much any condition/ he wasn’t phased but when I told him why it bugged me he agreed it wasn’t great.So would I recommend this? No. But it could be worse. Had I paid the original marked price of $100+ for this I would be on fire wanting to burn this seller down but at $40 I feel like I got what I paid for.
