This is an AMAZING speaker! The sound is absolutely great. However, due to my poor hearing (even though the hearing test says otherwise), I have to hold it on my lap against my chest to hear what's being said when watching streaming videos or listening to YouTube videos. I know it sounds weird, but that's what I have to do to hear well enough. I would like to add that my laptop/monitor is at arm's length from where I was seated. The return period has already expired; I wouldn't want to anyway. It has such a beautiful sound that I will hold on to it. My laptop's speakers leave a lot to be desired. Turn up the volume and they're not loud enough for me to hear. I bought an audio amplifier to use when watching TV and listening to videos on my laptop. At full volume, the TV just isn't loud enough. The TV isn't that far from my seat. I can't hear everything they say, even at full volume. The choice of sound amplifiers was either headphones or headphones. The ones I thought I needed turned out to be too expensive for me. I don't want one or the other. Both would annoy me to no end. I live alone so no one is bothered by the loud noise except my beloved Sadie my cat. She doesn't complain. :) So I bought the Doss Soundbox XL hoping it would provide the higher volume I needed. The first thing I bought was Bluetooth speakers, DOSS SoundBox Touch portable wireless Bluetooth speakers with HD sound and 12W bass. It also had great sound. It just stopped giving me volume all of a sudden, but I bought it in September 2017 and it took until February of this year for it to stop working. This is the third Doss speaker I will have. It will arrive tomorrow so I am very happy to receive it. I want to repeat here. You can't go wrong with this speaker. If you are hard of hearing like me, but your hearing isn't so bad that you need hearing aids, you might want to look elsewhere like I did. I'll definitely be posting a DOSS Soundbox XL review so you know if it works for what I need. I would like to add that DOSS is the only brand I trust.
