This is a very nice thermal glass that does a good job of keeping drinks hot or cold for the promised time. I made tea at 8am this morning and now it's almost 2pm and my tea is still warm (was hot for about 3 hours and then started to cool). This is actually more often used for cold drinks and keeps them ice cold all day long. This jar has a reasonable 25 ounce capacity which seems perfect for my commute and it would be nice for older kids to take to school too. It may be too big and/or heavy for younger children when full and it may be difficult for them to operate the lid's sliding mechanism. I actually take two steel vacuum flasks to work, one with a cold drink for my very long drive which I leave in the car (so it's important to me that my drink stays cold all day) and the other with a hot drink . drink that I carry with me. The lid fits well and seems to stay securely in place. The sliding mechanism in the lid is a little stiff at first, but loosens up after a few uses - it prevents spills and helps keep the contents of the jar warm or cold. The straw is lightweight plastic and a bit flimsy and I don't need or need it much but I think the kids will love it. I ordered a Minnie Mouse design, charming and quite delicate. The glass is easy to clean as I can put my sponge hand in it and don't have to depend on a bottle brush. This glass is a bit thinner and lighter than I expected, but I won't be rough on it. I would say that it is suitable for light use. The glass arrived well packaged in a sturdy but plain cardboard box. The current price of $21.80 seems reasonable for this quality lens.
