No benefits observed. Pulsetech PP-12-L has been confirmed to generate pulses, but the pulses are not effective in increasing battery life or capacity. It's difficult to get an exact figure for power consumption, but it's been on a 5Ah battery (very small capacity) for a week and hasn't been fully discharged yet. However, I wouldn't install anything that doesn't run on average at least once a week to recharge the battery, or better yet, use a small auto-maintainer in combination to avoid running out of juice. Most of the positive reviews about this product are due to the ease of charging the battery or the placebo effect, not the long battery life! ! A big concern. Is the pulse strong enough to damage the ECM, PCM or other sensitive electronics?! It pulses 3 more times after a power outage (ie if you unplug the battery cable while the Pulstech is still in your vehicle your electronics will take the brunt of the 3 nasty jolts as the battery is no longer in circuit to absorb the jolts absorb) . I wanted to measure the peak voltage at the tip, but since my DMM doesn't have that capability, I'll have to come back to that later. The batteries here have lasted around 10 years (some even longer) WITHOUT this unit, and the ad above claims battery life can triple! For real? Can we get 25-30 years out of them? This device has only been on the Amazon market since 2011, so I wonder if the evidence is too weak. Seems too many 5 star reviews are posted before actual use is proven in my opinion. A hint that you're better off hiring a quality mechanic, plugging the battery into an outlet to keep it from dying (punctually stabbing saves 9), or charging it fully regularly to prolong its life like it does has proven itself. I prefer AC powered floats with built in desulfation like the B@tteryminder 1500, 1510 and 2012 or the Pulsetech XC100-P. I bought this PP-12-L out of curiosity as I wanted to try it as it turned out to be the best in its class but I doubt I will ever buy one again.
