Solid, durable base. My wheels and 2" lift cylinder fit with no problems. Combined with all the other heavy duty parts, I replaced a regular 250lb maximum office chair with a 500lb maximum office chair (you need a heavy duty lift cylinder, a pivoting recline mechanism and buy wheels. Normal items won't cut. A chain is only as weak as its weakest link. I was a little apprehensive when I first received it as the shipping box was badly crushed and tattered but the bottom inside was properly wrapped in foam and then bubble wrap so there is no damage, cosmetic or otherwise, to the base Would buy this product again if I ever get another hair to transform.
