Review on πŸš€ High-performance HardTap HT-1096 Radar Detector Hardwire Kit - Power Cord with Inline Fuse, RJ11, 8ft Length by Scott Welch

Easy to use - good value for money

Purchased for Valentine V1-Gen 2 radar detector hardware in a 2021 Honda Insight. The wire ran easily under the edge of the headliner, then I removed the A-pillar trim to get safely away from the side airbag, then fished out the existing wiring harness in the area behind the dash to access the internal fuse box. I removed the hot wire connector. If you strip the wire to connect to the compression connector, add a fuse connector (sold separately) to connect to the fuse panel. A ground wire connected to a nut and bolt, with a hole in the metal part of the structure under the dash that was a confirmed ground point. The wire appears to be of high quality and the exposed portion has a slight braided finish rather than a telephone cord. flat wire style Comes with a 2 amp fuse which creates a "spike" in the cord if you need to run the cord through a small space. So plan accordingly in which direction you need to route the cable.

Pros
  • For use with radar detectors that have an RJ11 power connector (e.g. Beltronics, Escort, Passport, Valentine One, V1).
Cons
  • Can't remember but there was something
