I have a lot of experience with rotary tools. I have been using them mainly for wood carving for more than two years. I have carved various types and styles of ridges with 1/4" and 1/8" shanks. I use both a standard home made Dremel high speed rotary tool and a Foredom SR industrial rotary tool. So I can speak with some experience regarding burrs. My first set of hardwood burrs was a much better quality set that has served me to this day. I wish I knew the company. This particular set has two main problems. First, the cross cutting is extremely poor. On my set, the second cut seems to have barely touched the burr, causing wood performance to suffer. Second, the shafts and metal are a bit thinner and weaker. Two drills had their shanks bent the first time they were used. And when you force cut, you know that once the shank is bent, the burr is useless. The conical ridge was the worst, the ridge itself actually cut through the thickest part of the ridge and sent the tip flying. So even though they are very cheap, they are very cheap. I recommend looking for the best quality.
