Review on Mevell Conditioner Countertops Utensils Beeswax by Brandon Plowden

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Pretty good product

Overall good chopping board conditioner. (I actually used it mostly for wooden bowls and spoons, in addition to a small cutting board). The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the relative thinness compared to another brand I've tried, indicating less beeswax and more mineral oil. (Not that the mixture was very runny, just a lot thinner than I'm used to). I find regular oil should be used regularly, real conditioner very often, and the conditioner should be waxy enough to seal the wood really well. The other brand I used may have had the same beeswax content as the Mevell brand, but they also added some carnauba wax so the overall thickness (waxiness) was thicker with two waxes and mineral oil. Mevell's only has oil and beeswax, which is fine, but I think they should increase the amount of beeswax in their mix a bit. All in all, Mevell's conditioner seems like a pretty decent option for protecting wooden cutting boards. , bowls etc. 👍

Pros
  • Cutting Board Wax Ideal for wooden cutting boards, bamboo cutting boards, chopping boards, salad bowls, wooden worktops and other kitchen utensils and wooden products.
Cons
  • Out of fashion
