Works but be careful with initial assembly

I hope the manufacturer reads this, I received my set with a similar defect that others have reported, with a lens ready to be removed. As someone who designs products, there is a simple adjustment in production that needs to be addressed. For others who have stumbled upon this, there is a pull tab to remove the clear protective film, but the pull tab is actually connected to the lens more than the film it's trying to remove. The glue under this lens is gradually coming off. So when you start pulling to remove, just stop rubbing the tab further into the lens. This does two things: it creates an air gap between the protective film and the lens, and it also secures the connection between the tongue and the protective film. It also strengthens the connection with the lens and the plastic body. So far I've tested that it connects properly and seems accurate at first. I've only recently experienced real-time temperature tracking while cooking, but it's certainly better than piercing food every 2 minutes while lowering the cooking temperature.

Pros
  • Household and kitchen
Cons
  • Good but not great
