Review on 💻 DC8001 Digital Stainless Fractions Precision by Jay Buford

I love the durable stainless steel construction of this digital caliper. There is no plastic here. It was ready to use with built in batteries and extra. I love that it can convert to fractions as well as English and metric units. When initially deciding whether or not to buy this device, I read some other reviews that had several people complaining that it didn't run smoothly. This turned out to be true. When I first tried mine, it felt convincing when I opened it, especially fully. I looked at the instructions and they say to wipe down the unit before use. Your description in the instructions was poor, but before you use it make sure you wipe down/clean everything, especially the rails (I used a small amount of non-ammonia glass cleaner on a paper towel). Open it fully, wipe, close, open and wipe again. I would repeat 5 or 6 times to make sure all rails are clean. After cleaning it works very smoothly and accurately and I am very happy with it. I think this unit would have consistently received higher ratings if the manufacturer had thoroughly cleaned the units before shipping.
