My 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport already had a wiring harness installed but it didn't work. Some of the wires were cut or disconnected from where they were connected. Instead of searching for hours, I bought a Tow Ready T-connector 118354. To install, all you have to do is remove the spare tire and the driver's side plastic trim. behind. Disconnect the factory plug and plug it into the T-socket. Plug the T-connector into the factory outlet, screw in the ground, and feed the wire through. I ran mine under the spare tire so it could be stowed under the stay when not in use. It took maybe 10 minutes to install (just because I was struggling to get the spare tire put back in). This build has a very long cord (more than I'll ever need when I ran mine), but I'd rather have it a bit slack than tight. This type of connection is much more secure than the universal type that cuts into the wire and is MUCH easier to install! Highly recommended!
