The faceplate doesn't seem to scratch easily, having dropped it on the tile floor a few times.

Exactly as described. I used this for a CAT5e cable I was running in my living room. I used an Allen Tel (AT55-09) RJ45 insert which fits perfectly on the faceplate. Most bets should fit. The faceplate doesn't seem to scratch easily, having accidentally dropped it on the tile floor a couple of times. I would recommend it!
