I want to make a VERY clear idea of this product. If you read reviews that turn out to be negative, you should be aware that what SOME see as negative may actually be a desirable compromise for others. So it was with me. I really liked this product and was happy to receive most of the things that other people have complained about. People complain about the keyboard/case. Anyway, I LOVE the keyboard case. I think it looks incredibly professional in a business setting, which was very important to me as it was purchased as a travel computer for use in and out of meetings and/or client visits. The keyboard/case is very thin and light, and yes, that means it's less durable than any other thick and bulky case, but that's a trade-off. I don't WANT the most durable or protective case, I want the MOST PORTABLE case/keyboard combo. I have one that is perfect for my needs. The button works great, is backlit when it gets dark, seems normal to me, and the trackpad is surprisingly comfortable, although I don't usually like trackpads. I find the case to be sufficient to hold the screen in "laptop" mode and it covers both sides of the device so people on the street don't know it's a computer as they also like one leather-wrapped notepad looks like.2. The processor is much better than I expected. I bought the M5 version, 4GB RAM. In order to work I had to run 2 Teamviewer windows to remotely access some proprietary software in my office and also run 6 Chrome tabs, 2 Internet Explorer tabs and 1 Firefox tab. I have a super slim Bluetooth mouse that I carry around and it connects with no problems. Everything seems to be working fine. (Just to be clear, my Huawei is a computer running all browsers at the same time, not the computer I'm connecting to). It's actually a little surprising as I'm used to running an i5 with 8GB of RAM, but it seems to get the job done. The CPU seems to have this temporary sense of speed, so when you click to open a new program or start a new browser tab, the CPU momentarily switches to high speed and acts like a much faster chip. It then settles down after startup to avoid overheating. This means it actually feels like a higher quality processor unless you're CONSTANTLY doing stressful processing like project rendering, video editing, or video gaming. It is ideal for office work. And since it's a fanless design, unlike higher-end chips, this tablet is very thin and very quiet. no noise That thinness and quietness make this a trade-off that I think is justified when compared to the Microsoft Surface, which I find bulky (too thick), noisy (due to the fans), and too heavy.3. Battery. People complain that the battery is on the lower end of the spectrum for similar products, and that's true, but that's because other products don't typically pack a full-featured version of Windows 10 on a decently fast iPad-sized computer. Screen. They're either thicker, contain fans, or use cheaper fanless chipsets like the Atom processors, which compare horribly to this M5. Considering how thin and powerful this device is and since it doesn't run a stripped down, lightweight operating system like IOS, I'm really happy with the battery life. I don't understand why more and more people don't just see this as a compromise. You can not have everything. If you want ultra-thin and durable, choose the iPad Pro. If you want a full operating system with better battery life (but you're happy with a thicker, heavier, and less comfortable system), just buy a Surface Pro. It's not a "this is better than that" problem. It's just a preference. The battery lasts for 4 hours of intensive office work with maximum screen brightness. I've found Apple products to charge this device via a USB-C charger, so I was able to charge it up in the car very quickly between appointments. (Honestly, the Apple charger seems to charge it much faster than the one that comes with it.) I keep one charger inside and one in the car so I don't have to carry it around when that was the time to buy it.4. ports. Yes, there's only one USB port that's used for charging, but that's not an issue if you can buy a thin and light USB-C dock. I didn't choose Huawei Matedock as it looked too bulky. I found one at Revain that was tiny and fit in my pocket without being bulky. If this device had come with more docking stations, including a full-size USB stick, the tablet would have needed to be thicker. I personally like this as I can connect additional USB jacks if needed but generally don't have to bother with them. Conclusion? which was super slim, super mobile and yet functional for office work, fits into the professional environment and looks like a leather-bound notepad. Huawei gave me EXACTLY what I wanted.
